for the Outstanding Doctoral Student in Entomology

  1. Nominees must be students in the Entomology Graduate Program Area (full or part time), at any time during the academic year of their nomination.
  2. Eligible students are those who, at minimum, have passed their Comprehensive Exam by the beginning of the semester of nomination. Students may be nominated more than once during their Ph.D. program.
  3. A recipient of this award is ineligible to receive the award a second time.

Nomination Process: Nominations will be made by the major advisor, based on material provided by the graduate student. The student’s portion of the nomination package must contain a one page statement of career goals, a maximum three page CV, unofficial copies of transcripts or academic history, and reprints (if any). The student should also arrange for one letter of recommendation from a faculty member outside the department to be sent to the major advisor before the deadline. The major advisor must write a nomination/recommendation cover letter citing the important accomplishments of the student and the advisor’s reason for nominating, plus assemble and turn in the package.

The nomination materials must be submitted electronically as either Word or PDF files.
