The Phillip & Ruth Stone Scholarship Award for the Outstanding Master’s Student in Entomology


  1. Nominees must be students (full or part-time) in the Entomology Graduate Program Area at any time during the academic year of their nomination
  2. Students are eligible if they have completed one full academic year of their M.S. degree program in entomology. Students may be nominated more than once during their M.S. program.
  3. A recipient of this award is ineligible to receive the award a second time.
  4. A maximum of a single award will be made in the spring of each year.

Nomination Process: Nominations will be made by the major advisor, based on material provided by the graduate student. The student’s portion of the nomination package must contain a one page statement of career goals, a maximum three page CV, unofficial copies of transcripts or academic history, and reprints (if any). The major advisor must write a nomination/recommendation cover letter citing the important accomplishments of the student and the advisor’s reason for nominating, plus assemble and turn in the package.

The nomination materials must be submitted electronically as either Word or PDF files.

Evaluation: Not more than two weeks after distribution to faculty, nominations will be discussed and voted upon by the faculty. The successful candidate will be announced at the Spring Awards Banquet.
